Prepaid Wallet Model

LightYear Cloud uses a prepaid wallet rather than post-pay invoicing. Your wallet balance is debited hourly for all running resources.

How Charges Are Calculated

ResourceBilling UnitExample
GPU ServerPer hour (while running)A100 80GB = $2.49/hr
Block StoragePer hour (always)100 GB = $0.015/hr
Load BalancerPer hour (while active)Basic LB = $0.015/hr
BandwidthPer GB over 10 TB$0.01/GB

Note: Stopped servers still incur storage charges. To stop all charges, destroy the server.

Auto-Reload

Enable Auto-Reload under Billing → Wallet Settings to automatically top up your wallet when the balance falls below a threshold.

Threshold: $10.00 Reload amount: $50.00

Low Balance Warnings

LightYear sends email warnings at:

  • 20% of average daily spend remaining
  • 10% remaining
  • Server auto-stop threshold reached ($2.00 default)

Invoices and Receipts

All transactions are listed under Billing → Transaction History. Invoices are available as PDF downloads.

Avoiding Unexpected Shutdowns

  1. Enable Auto-Reload.
  2. Set a generous reload amount.
  3. Monitor usage in the Billing dashboard.
  4. Destroy unused servers rather than stopping them if you do not need the data.
